Sewardstone Community Centre CIC
A Community Space Rooted in North Chingford
Sewardstone Community Centre CIC is bringing a long-neglected local hall back to life—transforming it into a vibrant, welcoming space for everyone. Once used by Scouts and left derelict for years, the centre is now being restored as a multi-purpose hub for community wellbeing, learning, and togetherness.
Current Use:
- Building Renovations: Major structural and safety upgrades are underway to meet modern standards.
- Community Listening: We’re consulting local residents and stakeholders to co-design the future of the space.
- Friday Prayers: Responding to the urgent need for prayer space in Chingford, the centre is open for one hour per week in Friday, safely managed by trained stewards with on-site parking.
Our Vision
We are committed to developing a flexible and inclusive community facility for Chingford, with plans for:
- Youth clubs and reinstating Scout group activities
- Health and wellbeing services
- Local advice and support drop-ins
- Skills workshops and community events
- Inclusive cultural and faith-based use (where appropriate)
